∞ (2017-ongoing) is an autobiographical project that begins with the physical hole left after the 1994 demolition of my birthplace – the village of Saá in northern Spain – as part of an opencast mine expansion. In this work I focus on things deliberately retained after the expropriation of the village. Working with the metaphor of the mine, I combine amateur snapshots, archaeological records and corporate imagery alongside my own photographs to create a ‘visual atlas’ where different times, spaces and places cohabit.
